Sept. 17 / Betsy Koss / Every Quilt Tells a Story:Hand quilter Betsy Koss finishes repairs and creates quilts from blocks, tops and fabric. She will bring quilts from her collection for a close-up look and an informal lecture.
Sept. 24 / Jane White / Human Trafficking:A “real world” looks at this evil which sadly exists in our region and throughout our country.
Oct. 1 / Maureen Ester / Discovery of King Tut’s Tomb: This presentation covers the discovery and excavation of King Tut’s tombwith a discussion of Egyptian culture during the time of the pharaohs.
Oct.8 / Cindy Stairs / Antique Sock Demonstration:Homemade socks were made for our soldiers during World War 1. In addition to telling us the history of sock making Cindy will make a pair of socks on her antique sock machine.
Oct.15 / Dick Rubens / The History of Detroit:Detroit has a fascinating history filled with Indians, Pirates, Frenchmen, Englishmen and many others. It has many ups and downs. Come learn about Detroit’s past and present!
Oct. 22 / Bill Cottrell / President Grant and Lincoln’s Legacy: During achallenging time in our country’s history, Ulysses Grant worked tirelessly to restore Abraham Lincoln’s legacy following the Civil War.
Oct. 29 / Felix Crux / Hearing Loss and Qualityof Life: An informational discussion about hearing, the symptoms of hearing loss and what one should be aware of when purchasing a hearing aid.
Nov.5 / DIA Speaker,
Cindy Patrick / Ordinary People by Extraordinary Artists: A docent from the DIA will tell us about artists such as Degas, Monet, Renoir and Cezanne and their works of art. The Plymouth Arts Council is sponsoring this lecture.
Nov. 12 / Randy Hotton / The Willow Run Bomber Plant:Randy tells us how the Willow Run Plant was instrumental in winning WorldWar11 and how it impacted the world. Also there will be an overview of the YankeeAirMuseum.
Nov. 19 / Matt Watroba / Shine Right Through the Dark: Matt Watroba is first and foremost a community singer and teacher. He has a knack for picking the perfect songs and stories for his audience. He’ll get you singing, laughing and feeling better about the world.
