Three Physiatrists Join Marianjoy Medical Group

Wheaton, IL (September 23, 2009) – Marianjoy Medical Group is pleased to announce that Sachin Mehta, M.D., Kendra Farabee, M.D., and Andrew Lueder, M.D. have joined the physical medicine and rehabilitation practice based on the Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital campus in Wheaton, Illinois.

Dr. Mehta has been named the Associate Medical Director of the Marianjoy Brain Injury Program.
His practice is focused on improving function and quality of life, decreasing pain and providing nonsurgical treatments for disorders associated with disabilities. Having completed his medical school and residency training at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Dr. Mehta has specialized training in conservative spinal interventions for those with neck and back pain, including epidural steroid injections and trigger point injections. Dr. Mehta is board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists.

Dr. Kendra Farabee joins the Marianjoy Medical Group in her new role as a pediatric physiatrist. Dr. Farabee earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Colorado State University and taught elementary school music in Littleton, Colorado before attending Ross University Medical School where she received her medical degree in 2003. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006 and her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in 2009. Dr. Farabee is board certified through the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board eligible through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her areas of clinical interests include working with individuals with developmental disabilities and cerebral palsy.

Dr. Andrew Lueder graduated from Ross University Medical School and completed his residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. In joining the Marianjoy Medical Group, Dr. Lueder’s focus will be on inpatient, subacute and outpatient rehabilitation. Dr. Lueder’s areas of interest include pain management, geriatric and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and electrodiagnostic medicine (EMG).

The Marianjoy Medical Group (MMG) consists of 23 physiatrists who manage over 200 acute rehab beds, eight outpatient clinics and 170 subacute rehab beds in the western Chicago suburbs. MMG physicians provide a variety of physical medicine and rehabilitation services to adults and children with disabilities and are on the medical staff at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital as well as 20 community hospitals and academic medical centers.
