In order to maintain safety and provide a comfortable environment for all the following behavioral guidelines have been developed:
All program information is considered confidential.
Show respect for others and self (avoid physical contact and swearing).
Alcohol, smoking, drugs, dangerous objects and weapons are not allowed.
Valuables/electronics should be left at home (the program is not responsible for personal property that may be lost or damaged during your time with us).
Please wear clothing that is both appropriate for the weather and consistent with the goals of safety and respect.
If a child realizes they inadvertently have anything in their possession that is not allowed, staff will take possession of the item and return it to the child when they return home.
Picture taking or video taping by any client or family member in the program is not allowed.
Additional Client Expectations
All clients are expected to:
Attend program daily and participate in all activities to the best of their ability
Follow staff guidance and direction
Report to staff any issues of concern (medications, peer conflicts, program issues, etc.)
Follow all program rules and expectations
3 Strikes Policy
If a child presents frequent, disruptive, maladaptive behaviors that jeopardize the safety of the child or other children in our care:
Strike 1: Conversation with staff/child and a letter home for parents to sign
Strike 2: Call home and call to the Social Worker to report concerning behavior
Strike 3: Day off with a conversation about whether or not to return with the parent/guardian, child, and Social Worker
We understand and forgive many negative behaviors; however action must be taken when the behaviors go against the goals of the program and compromise the safety of the group. We reserve the right to suspend a child’s participation in the event of serious incidents.
Parent/Guardian Expectations
All parents/guardians are expected to:
Provide program with all necessary documentation and signed release forms.
Support the child’s regular attendance and participation in the program by making sure that the child is ready on time for pick up and properly prepared for the days activities.
Notify transportation staff if child will be absent or late.
Notify transportation staff of any upcoming changes in address, telephone and/or other contact information.
Inform TEEG of any changes in medication immediately.
Follow medication procedure by sending medications as instructed with completed corresponding documentation.
Inform the Program Director of any program and/or other concerns that may interfere with your child’s success.
Be home or have a designated adult available to meet ASAP staff and receive their child at drop-off times.
Medication
If a client needs to take medication (either prescription or over-the-counter) during program hours, the patient, guardian, or caregiver must inform program staff at the time of intake. The parent, guardian or caregiver must give the medication to program staff in a properly labeled prescription bottle. Clients are NOT allowed to hold their own medications while in the program. ASAP staff will ONLY take the amount of medication to be administered during the day. No bottles containing more than a one-day dose will be taken by TEEG staff.
Transportation
ASAP Provides door-to-door transportation in the 10 town area we serve. Clients are driven in staff’s personal cars and arrangements for transportation will be determined the week before ASAP begins. Parents will be called within the weekprior to the start of ASAP with information regarding the time their child will be picked up and dropped off, as well as information on the staff member who will provide their child’s transportation
Meals and Snacks
Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided daily by the program. Please inform staff of any food allergies and/or restrictions.
