Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we approach the month of September, our P6 pupils would be entering into their final lap of preparations for their PSLE examination. Do keep our P6 pupils in prayer as they prepare themselves for this important examination. We will also be looking forward to appreciating our teachers for their dedication and hard work as they continue to give off of themselves in order to ensure that the pupils learn and grow daily in school at the Teachers’ Day celebration next week. Finally, with the September holidays round the corner, we would like to encourage all our pupils to take make full use of the one week break to consolidate their learning, prepare for their coming SA2 while ensuring that they have adequate play time as well.
GMSP Celebrates
We will be celebrating Teachers’ Day on next Thursday, 3rd of September. School will operate in single session mode that day and dismissal will be at 1.00pm. There will be a short celebration towards the end of the day to allow the pupils to appreciate their teachers through the items that have been put up by the pupils themselves. Pupils are encouraged to show their appreciation to their teachers through meaningful notes of appreciation or by making an appreciation card instead of buying expensive gifts.

Sharing of school values
To spur the pupils to gear up and do well for their coming examinations, we will be sharing on the school value of Passion for learning. We want to inculcate in our pupils the positive attitude towards learning and to take pride in their assignments. Pupils are also encouraged to be reflective learners. They are also taught to accept challenges and look for ways to overcome them.
So how can we encourage our kids to grow their passion for learning?
Give Attention - Listen to them describe their discoveries. Ask questions and encourage them to take their exploration one step further.
Give Supplies - Help them find books, websites, and videos that will fuel their search for more information.
Give Space- Maybe your child could use a place to display hisrock collection. Maybe she needs a corner at the kitchen table for herwriting centre. Giving your childrenspace for their passionate exploration not only creates an open invitation for learning, but it can also give YOU the space you need.
