MIDDLE SCHOOL ALL-REGION CHOIR: Last year we had one middle scholar make it into the Intermediate Treble Choir and three make it into the Advanced Treble Choir. This year’s placement of 59% is quite amazing! We placed 13 of 22 students in two of the three All-Region Choirs (Advanced MS Girls’ and Tenor-Bass). No other school came anywhere close to our number placed. Congratulations to our students!

WANTED: We are looking for a cleaner in the evening, 5pm-9pm, M-F. The pay is $9.00 per hour, and applicants need to have their own transportation and be reliable.

Trail Life USA is the new organization in the parish for boys and young men, and their fathers, interested in outdoor activities. Our Troop #814 has been formally accepted by Trail Life USA. Since we began, we’ve had 21 families interested, totally about 25 boys. It’s a good start! For more information, contact Thomas Stallard at (210) 639-2989.

ITALY! – We have 57 people going on our semi-annual pilgrimage to Rome, Orvieto, and Assisi, 16-24 November. We will hold our pre-trip meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 27th at 6:30pm in the Common Room.

REVISED LITURGY COMING: As was mentioned last week, the new Divine Worship Missal is slated to be released in Advent. In most instances, the parts of the faithful remain the same as in the Book of Divine Worship, with only small changes. For example, in the Lord’s Prayer, it now ends, “…but deliver us from evil.” The Doxology, “For thine is the kingdom…” comes after a prayer of the priest, as in the Ordinary Form of the Mass. The opening introduction: “Blessed be God, Father, Son…” is now replaced with “In the Name of the Father…” The Intercessions (Prayers of the Faithful) are completely revised. The ceremonial of the Mass has been altered, and the celebrant and deacons have different spoken parts and actions, but those things won’t greatly affect the congregation. ● From 1983 until 1987, we had the interim liturgy, which was totally altered when the BDW was promulgated in 1987. Back then, in less than 3 weeks, we were able to meet the challenges of the changes. With a little bit of attention to detail, we’ll soon be able to adapt to the revised liturgy. All Pastoral Provision and Ordinariate parishes and communities will be moving to the revise liturgy on Nov. 30.

Olive Wood Sales – Our friends from the Holy Land have returned and are offering olive wood items. Stop by!

Please join us at the font for the Baptism of Genevieve Catherine Ku, daughter of Paul and Barbara, and welcome her into the Church.
