WELL-BEING OF THE THIRD GENERATION TURKISH IMMIGRANT YOUTH IN GERMANY

This research examines 3rd generation Turkish youths, whose grandparents migrated from Turkey to Germany as guest workers, for their achievement, well-being and participation in social, economic and political life equally with other advantage citizens of Germany. The Research mainly focuses these young peoples` perspectives, values, needs, opportunities, experienced burdens beyond the formal school system. Research also sheds light on what is shaping third generation Turkish youths` life and what are the important values for these young peoples` achievement, agency and well being that they can live a life they value in Germany. The research is focusing on youths with Turkish immigration background because Turks are the largest number of immigrants in Germany and Turkish migrants living in Germany is highly pronounced for achievement and integration in the public and political discourses.
Research seeks answers to the following questions from the eyes of the young people to give them a voice for possible reforms beyond school and education system in Germany for a good life. In addition, in the research gender issues will be considered sensitively,

1- What kind of capabilities do third generation Turkish youth living in Germany value/need?

2- How do they relate their needs and values to educational achievement?

3- How is the well-being of these young people related to opportunities, experienced burdens, spaces and options for a good life?
