ENSTAR Natural Gas Company is accepting applications for a regular full-timeFinancial Analyst (Anchorage).The Financial Analyst, under minimal supervision, performs a variety of analytical, technical, and statistical work including preparation of financial reports, special studies, and the preparation of rate case and regulatory materials.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial analysis and support for filings with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska, including quarterly gas cost adjustment reconciliation.
  • Assist in preparing the Company’s revenue forecasts.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of tariff provision revisions, filings, reports and provide testimony to the Regulatory Commission of Alaska.
  • Act as Company liaison with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska.
  • Perform special analytical projects as assigned.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge in order to uphold responsibilities as subject matter expert.
  • Submit regular reports to the Director of Rates & Regulatory Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Five years of related work experience. Utility experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accounting (CMA) preferred.
  • Auditing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge regarding the Alaska public utility regulatory process preferred.
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening.
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license.

Skill Requirement(s):

  • Proven organizational and analytical skills including the ability to evaluate data, compile statistics, and prepare reports, graphs, tables, and charts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in order to interface effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations.
  • Good attention to detail with accuracy.
  • Must have the ability to create technical documents and reports in a manner which is clear and easy to follow.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe. Ability to learn new systems/software as necessary.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves sitting at a desk and operating personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Duties may also involve occasional bending, stooping and lifting of up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Occasional travel to various worksites may also be required, depending on assignment.
