Information Leaflet
This leaflet provides you with information about small community equipment that has been recommended by your Health Professional (Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist)
1.The equipment is on loan to you from the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, free of charge, and is for your personal use only. Do not share, give or lend this equipment to anyone else.
2. The equipment must only be used for what it is intended for, according to the instructions that have been given with the equipment, and as directed by the Health Professional.
3. We ask that you look after this equipment, and treat the equipment with proper care and only use it for the purpose intended.
4. Please check the equipment when you receive it, and report any damage immediately by telephoning the Community Equipment and Continence Service on 028 9536 1414.
5.Only authorised personnel should fix or adjust your equipment.
6. Please clean in line with the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not use bleach to clean any of the equipment.
7.Report any fault or defect as soon as they are noticed by contacting the Health Professional who give you the equipment. The Community Equipment and Continence Service are not allowed to replace equipment that has become faulty during its use.
8.If your faulty equipment is being replaced, the driver delivering your new equipment cannot uplift the faulty equipment, this must be collected separately because of potential cross infection.
9. When you no longer need this equipment please arrange for it to be returned so that it can be decontaminated and recycled, by contacting the Community Equipment and Continence Service on 028 9536 1414, email or Text 07860041021. You will be given a date when the equipment will be collected from your home. Trust Transport collection times are Monday to Friday, from 8am and 2pm, and are scheduled within areas, North, South, East and West Belfast. We cannot give specific times for collections.
Equipment can also be returned in person to the Decon unit, Community Equipment & Continence Service, Rathdown Walk, Moira Road, Lisburn, (please do not bring into the CECS Reception)
