GENERAL

This document describes the use, maintenance, and financing of the Panther Lake Ski Club’sclub boat.

BOAT USE

  1. The person that pulls the boat out of the water is responsible for drying up the boat, including the vinyl. Please open the back lids and wipe the edges.
  2. The boat should have ½ tank of gas when you get it. Add your gas before you start skiing. The boat must have at least ½ tank of gas when you are done using it.It has been said that it takes about 1 gallon per set.
  3. Bring your own soap.
  4. Bring you own rope and handles and remove them from the boat after skiing.
  5. Normal wear damage will be paid by everyone. Abnormal damage will be fixed and paid by the responsible person, examples: driving the boat up on shore, bending the prop or shaft by hitting a turtle, driving the boat too fast on the trailer and taking chunks off the boat, etc.
  6. If the boat breaks down while you are using it, you are responsible for getting it fixed. Please notify everyone that the boat is not available as soon as possible.
  7. The boat must not be taken from Panther Lake other that for needed repairs.
  8. Boat owners will participate in the boat rotation as they arrive to the lake.
  9. No one under 18 years old may use the drive the boat without an adult in the boat or skiing behind the boat. The adult, 18 years or older, in the boator skiing behind the boat must be a member of the boat owning family.
  10. Shoes musts be removed before getting in the boat.

BOAT MAINTENANCE

  1. There will be scheduled boat cleaning days, please plan to help when possible.
  2. The person changing the oil is responsible purchasing the oil and filter and for disposing of the oil properly. There is an oil barrel at Advance Auto in Fuquay where the oil can be disposed.
  3. The oil changer must write the boat hours on the new filter.
  4. When changing the oil also check the transmission fluid and the water filter.
  5. Members that plan to use the boat in the winter must declare themselves and will be responsible for winterizing and maintaining the boat. After winter, the maintenance schedule will be adjusted.
  6. Winter is defined from the beginning of November thru the end of February.
  7. The oil and oil filter must be changed per the following schedule. Please send an email to everyone after changing the oil:

CLUB BOAT FINANCIALS

  1. As of May 15, 2010 - Boat loan balance- 20,981.36will be paid off in 24 months at a 10% interest rate in 2 annual payments. Each owner is responsible for a $1659.73annual loan payment.
  2. Usage Fee
  • Owners will pay a usage fee of $3.00 per ski set. The usage fee will be held in a club boat maintenanceaccount.
  • Owners will begin logging sets on May 15, 2010. A notebook will be provided in the Panther Lake clubhouse.
  • Owners are responsible for paying the per set fee for their guests.
  • Owners will be billed monthly for their usage fee via email.
  • If there is money left in the club boat maintenance account it can be used to pay down the principal if an owner defaults or funds may be applied toward the purchase of the next club boat.
  1. Special Usage Gina Ross will pay a $500 usage fee to be placed in the maintenance account. Sets will be logged, sets in excess of 100 will be charged at $5 per set.
  2. Guests are welcome to enjoy the lake and the club boat. Owners are responsible for the $3 usage fee of their guests. After skiing 10 sets behind the club boat, a skier will become a “frequent skier” and their per set fee will increase to $5 per set.
  3. Each owner is responsible for an insurance payment in July each year.
  4. If a major boat repair is required the maintenance fund will be used. If the cost exceeds the amount in the maintenance fund, each owner will be accessed equally for the remaining cost of the repair.
  5. When the boat is sold all proceeds will be divided proportionally after the loan is satisfied.
  6. When the boat is sold if the sale price is less than the amount owed, the owners will be responsible equally for the short fall.
  7. The club boat managerBeverly Loewengruber () will collect all club boat funds. Boatand insurance paymentsare to be made per the following table:
