This Conference Is Recognised for Providing a Significant Contribution to the Development

The 15th Annual Conference and Scientific Symposium, Ireland’s premier healthcare informatics event will take place 17th - 18th November 2010 in the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Stillorgan Road, Co. Dublin.

This conference is recognised for providing a significant contribution to the development and understanding of information and its associated technologies in the delivery of healthcare. It is the focal point for those interested in Healthcare Informatics in Ireland to network with their peers and learn about the latest developments in Healthcare ICT.

For this year’s plenary session (Thursday 18th), which we organise in conjunction with the Irish Health Services Management Institute, we have maintained our tradition of bringing acknowledged achievers in Healthcare IT internationally to an Irish audience and having as a keynote speaker, the winner of the US CEO of the Year award for Information Technology and are very pleased to welcome this year’s winner, Mr Peter S. Fine, President and CEO Banner Health, Arizona.

Mr. Peter Fine is president and CEO of Banner Health, one of the largest secular, non-profit healthcare organisations operating hospitals and other services in seven states of the USA. A number of prestigious organisations have honouredMr. Fine including, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society with the 2010 CEO IT Achievement Award in the USA.

Prof. Matthew Swindells, Chair BCS Health who was on the NHS Management Board as it’s first Chief Information Officer and led an influential review of NHS IT.

The seminars and workshops on the first day of the conference (Wednesday 17th) are of particular interest with the input of internationally recognised experts in electronic health records, data protection, clinical decision support, nursing informatics, healthcare informatics standards, technology and systems innovation. In addition we have introduced a new practical workshop format in which participants will have a proactive involvement.
