Some of our personal favorites!

Walks:

-Miner’s Walk to Rainbow Falls starts on the north end of Flumerfelt Park on the west end of Coleman. It is an easy walk suitable for all. It is maybe 1km to the falls. Very pretty walk.

-Star Creek Falls is also an easy walk of about 1 km. Part way to the falls the trail stops, but by crossing the river you can follow along the river to the base of the lower falls. To get to the upper falls you will have to climb a short steep section, but there is a securely anchored rope to help you. Once at the top you round the corner and follow the river a short distance to a spectacular site. Well worth it! To do this hike you will need to cross the river a few times so wear appropriate foot wear. To find Star Creek Falls:

- turn south on 77 Ave in Coleman

-west on 18 Ave and follow this as it becomes 17 Ave

-turn south on 67 St.

-turn west on 16ave, follow this as it becomes 131 St

-turn south on 54 St. (this is a gravel road, and you’ll encounter a steep spot but don’t worry you will make it!)

-when the path stops, park and start walking up the river

Lundbreck Falls is where the Crowsnest River takes a 12m (39ft) drop to the canyon below. It is about 1 km east of the cabin on highway 3A. It is an easy walk but please be careful. Although highway 3A isn’t a heavily travelled road, vehicles do travel at a high speed.

Castle Bridge and Castle Falls Provincial Recreation Areas are great places to spend an afternoon playing in the river. Take along a picnic lunch and enjoy the mountains!

Chinook Lake is a great spot for swimming, hunting minnow or tadpoles, or walking the trail that loops around the lake.

Swimming – A good way to spend a cold dreary day is at the indoor pool in Pincher Creek. There is a nice wading pool for the young and plenty of toys in the main pool for the older kids. A hot tub for the adults and everyone is happy!

Fernie Aerial Park is further away (1 hr 10 min) but it is a unique way to spend your day. Do book ahead!

Quadding- There are many nice trails, but if we had to recommend just one it would be the York Creek Plane Crash!
