TheDepartment ofComputerScienceatTheUniversityofAlabamainHuntsville(UAH) invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginningAugust2018intheareaofcybersecurity; however,outstandingcandidatesinother areassuch ascloudcomputingandmobilecomputingmaybe considerediftheyarequalified toteachundergraduateandgraduatecourses incybersecurity.
APh.D.incomputerscienceoracloselyrelatedareaisrequired.Thesuccessfulcandidate willhaveastrongacademicbackgroundandbeabletosecureandperformfundedresearchin areastypicalforpublicationinwell-regarded academicconferenceandjournalvenues.In addition,thecandidateshouldembracetheopportunitytoprovideundergraduateeducation.
Thedepartmenthasastrongcommitmenttoexcellenceinteaching,research,andservice;the candidateshouldhavegoodcommunicationskills, strongteachingpotential,andresearch accomplishments.

UAHhasanenrollmentofapproximately9,100students.TheComputerSciencedepartment offersBS,MS,andPhDdegreesinComputerScience.Approximately554undergraduate majorsand151graduatestudentsareassociatedwiththeunit.Facultyresearchinterestsare manyandincludecybersecurity, mobilecomputing,datascience,softwareengineering, visualization, graphicsandgamecomputing,multimedia,AI,imageprocessing,pattern recognition,anddistributedsystems. RecentNSFfiguresindicatethedepartmentranks30thin thenationinoverallfederalresearchfunding.
