EVALUATION PLAN

Progress towards strategic goals and objectives will be evaluated annually using data from existing college data sources and identified core performance indicators. This information will be compiled into an annual Institutional Effectiveness report to the Board of Trustees and college community, and will be posted on the Institutional Planning website. Unit level annual planning and budget requests submitted via the annual Program and Resource Planning Process (PRPP)will directly link to the District mission and Strategic Plan goalsand objectives.

In addition to the annual evaluation, a midterm evaluation within the five-year strategic plan will be performed in sync with accreditation reporting, and a final evaluation at the conclusion of the planning cycle will be conducted. Strategic Plan components will be modified as appropriate based on data and community needs.

These evaluations will be showcased during an annual Planning Summit outlined below.

  • A Planning Summit in early spring where appropriate planning groups, including Cabinet Administrators, Academic Senate, Classified Senate, Associate Student Senate, Department Chair Council/Instructional Managers (DCC/IM), Student Services Council and Institutional Planning Council will gather to review and engage in dialogue on the progress and accomplishment of SRJC’s strategic goals and objectives. Data provided during the summit could include:
  • external and state data sources and reports, including CCCCO Student Success Scorecard/DataMart/IEPIand US Census
  • results of internal evaluations and data gathering developed to directly measure specific strategic objectives and identify larger trends affecting the District
  • existing college reports, including the annual Institutional Effectiveness Report, Fact Book, and PRPP
  • SRJC’s Strategic Plan Scorecard showing annual progress and accomplishment of strategic goals and objectives
  • Year one of the planning cycle (spring 2014) will establish a baseline, benchmark, and target for each objective.
  • Planning Summit outcomes will include development of an annual set of recommendations to the President on strategic priorities for the following year.
  • Planning Summit data will be compiled into an Institution-wide report, comparable to the district’s existing Institutional Effectiveness Assessment Report, from which a succinct annual progress update will be developed and disseminated to stakeholders.
  • Strategic priorities set by the President with feedback from the Planning Summit and other sources will be used to guide development of unit level PRPP operational plans for the following year.
  • Mid-point evaluation and update of Strategic Plan, as needed (spring 2016)
  • Begin Planning Process for 2019 Strategic Plan (fall 2018)
