What a gift it is to love books. Everybody must love something,
and I know of no objects of love that give such substantial and
unfailing returns as books and a garden.

November is filledwith a variety of activities at Wilson Elementary School. Teachers return from the Convention Center in Atlantic City. For many they are rejuvenated and ready to share the learning from various workshops. During our November Faculty meeting teachers also received more advanced training on developing Response to Intervention. We are also currently reading the book The Joyful Classroom.
Crazy Hair Day could be seen all over the building as our staff celebrated School Spirit Day. Pictures were Tweeted throughout the day as the staff and students had fun celebrating.
November is a time that we reflect on all of the wonderful things we are thankful for. We take time to enjoy our family and friends. During this season we would like to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.

KINDERGARTEN CELEBRATES BEING 50 DAYS

SMARTER WITH TRIBUTE

November represents the 50th day at Wilson School. Kindergarten students and teachers celebrated by dressing up as if life were back in the nifty fifties. Students participated in a “Phonics Study” as well. Picture Below (Mrs. Puzzo K/1, Ms. Collin K/1, and Mrs. Abrams K/1). What a team!!

MRS. BRYAN’S THEME COMMITTEE IS A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS!

Each year Mrs. Bryan, one of our K/1 Looping teachers, collaborates with our teachers to develop a school theme. This year our theme is “Wilson School: A Recipe for Success. Our goal is to continue to build a warm and caring school culture from within. We have several activities in the planning for the upcoming school year. One fun activity for this year's theme will be to have each class discuss what attributes make someone successful at something they want to accomplish. Students can write (1) tip about anythingrelated to school or a life skill. Sports, music, art, making friends, being a good listeneretc.

These ideas could be shared within a morning message and activity during our Morning Meeting/Responsive Classroom. Below is a sample of the attached form to use with each of the classrooms. We are encouraging each student to write one sentence on the form. The slips from each class are clipped together andput in our theme committee leader’s mailbox. During the end of November, we will share some of our recipes. Each week, one tip will be selected randomly andread during morning the morning announcements. The theme activities will include both students and faculty.
