Course Description:

The Paschal Mystery of Christ’s Cross and Resurrection is the pinnacle of God’s redemptive plan

For His people. In Jesus Christ: Source of Our Salvation, students delve deeply into the saving actions of the Lord. This text unpacks the meaning of God’s sacred and mysterious plan from creation, onward to the consequences of the Fall and the promise of a Savior, while ultimately focusing on the Life, Passion, Death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Each chapter includes several special features:

> Panel activities that help the student foster total learning in hands (service), hearts (prayer), and

Mind (academic challenges).

> Review questions for each main section.

> Key vocabulary terms set off in margin panels.

>A learn by Doing project for each chapter that provides a greater understanding.

>A Called to Prayer feature offer key prayers relevant to the chapter theme.

Goals: The student’s overall success in this course will supply him/her:

1. Preparation for future courses in Theology

2. Practice in collaborating with fellow classmates

3. Familiarity with the current teachings of the Church through History and Scripture

4. An understanding of the Catholic Church’s place among Global issues.

1. 3-Ring Binder with 5 or 6 Dividers

3. Pens (AND pencils for Exam Days)

Notebook: Everyone is required to keep a Notebook of work that you do in this class. All paper and

Handouts should be in the Binder and in the following order:

1. Syllabus and Course Outline 4. “Packets”

COURSE EXPECTATIONS

1. RAISE YOUR HAND IN ORDER TO BE RECOGNIZED!!

2. BEGIN WARM-UP Activity in your 3-ring binder immediately upon entering class.

3. BE ON TASK: If you are absent, it is your responsibility to take care of Missed work.

4. NO SLEEPING!!! If you are sick, please inform the teacher (A.S.A.P.) and action will

be taken. Sleeping is NOT in keeping with Academic Excellence in the Learning

environment (classroom). Please be mindful of this idea.

5. Doing homework for other classes is not permitted. Please keep this in mind.

6. The Academic Honesty and Honor Code is of prime importance. Please DO NOT

Take it lightly.

7. Students are expected to arrive on time and to be prepared at the beginning of class

with all class supplies.

8. TREAT YOURSELF AND OTHERS WITH RESPECT/

9. Students should activity listen when others are speaking.

10. Students are asked to take care of personal issues between classes.

11. ANY STUDENT WHO DISTRACTS FROM THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WILL BE
SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION. (see the Student Handbook).

14. All cell phones should be left in the locker.

15. NO EATING, DRINKING, or CHEWING GUM IS PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM.

16. Please bring to Class your TEXTBOOK, PEN, NOTEBOOK, and a Good Attitude!!

17. GRADING: TESTS = 55% QUIZZES = 35% Classwork/Homework = 10%.
