Dear Parents and Carers

Theatre Trip – Sister Act

As part of the AQA Drama course students need to see at least two live performances to enable them to answer exam questions. I am very pleased that we have been successful in provisionally booking a trip to the Bristol Hippodrometo see Sister Act.

An all new production of the Broadway and West End smash hit musical comedy returns to the UK starring Alexandra Burke (The X Factor, The Bodyguard) Directed and choreographed by CRAIG REVEL HORWOOD,Sister Actis the feel-amazing musical comedy based on the smash hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith. Sister Acttells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder. Under protective custody she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found – a Convent! Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music.

The trip will take place on Friday23rd September 2016, leaving Kingsmead School by coach at 4.30pm for the 7.30.pm performance and returning by approximately 11.30pm

(The performance is 2 hours + interval) Please make arrangements to collect your son/daughter from school.

The cost of this trip is £36.00If you would like your son/daughter to participate in this trip please log on to your parent pay account and pay for the trip by Monday 25th April 2016. This is the deadline date we have been given by the theatre to purchase the tickets. We will not be able to accept payment after this date. Parent Pay automatically reduces spaces on student allocations. In the notes field please add any medical condition or medication taken and an emergency contact number for this trip.

If your son/daughter will need any medication on the visit, please make sure they have this with them in a labelled bag with dosage and give to their group leader on arrival at school.

It is vital that students see as many performances over the GCSE course and so would encourage all Drama students to see this performance which proves to be a very creative piece of theatre.

Yours sincerely
