The Wyndmere City Council held their regular meeting on May 7, 2018.
Council Members present: Brandt, Phalen, Hetland, Bell, Olmsted,Anderson,Barry Johnson, Bolton & Menk; CommunityMembers: Don and Kathy Fluto, Betty Schultz, Tina Morris
The meeting was called to order at 6:57 PM.
Approval of Minutes – Motion by Bell, second by Hetland. MC
Equalization Mtg. – Motion by Hetland, second by Bell. MC
Approval of Bills – Motion by Phalen, second byBell. MC
Auditor Report–Motion to accept financialsby Hetland, Phalen second. MC Trees will be picked up on Friday and Mary from ND Tree Forest may be here on Friday.
Superintendent Report – Tarred cracks on Gilead, will order more tar to finish Gilead, will order cold patch, did lagoon transfer, water leak fixed on main, will put old plow truck on website to sell, water station had a software failure - ordered battery, ground water coming up at Gilead Ave & 3rd ST – working on removing it.
Old Business- Re-visit Ordinance No. 104 (Establishing Connection Fee for Initial Hook-up to the City Sanitary Sewer System) and Ordinance No. 105 (Establishing Additional Sewer Connection Surcharge Fee) Motion by Hetland to re-establish the additional sewer connection surcharge fee as stated in Ordinance No. 127, Phalen second. MC
First Reading of Ordinance No. 127 Amending Ordinance No. 105 (Ordinance to Re-Establish the Additional Sewer Connection Surcharge Fee)
New Business– Motion by Bell to accept the Otter Tail Contract concerning outdoor lighting services, second by Phalen. MC Motion by Bell for the official designated newspaper for publishing is the News Monitor, second by Phalen. MC Motion by Hetland to approve building permits for Patty Enderson and Bernard King, second by Bell. MC Property the city is receiving will be sectioned into two parcels. Motion by Phalen to approve the general amount levied from $75,000 to $100,000, second by Bell. MC
Other Business– Discussionwith Barry on the 2018 Storm Sewer & Street Improvements Project, Dollar General contractors will be here the week of July 1st to replace the street in front of the store, an ATB Grant was submitted to remove a few dead trees on the boulevard. Clean up week - check yards around the City, anyone wanting old Christmas decorations can come and get them before they are thrown away this weekend, getting ready for a city discussion meeting.
Bell made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:37 PM, seconded by Hetland. MC
