STEPEVI

DEEP COLLECTION

The world is not flat…

Stepevi is alluring the interiors world this season by introducing a new technology with a stunning revolutionary new collection.

Established as leaders in design excellence, Stepevi employs highly technical processes to develop their own yarns, allowing them to produce rugs that are innovative, sophisticated and at the cutting edge of design.

The sophisticated new floor dressing textiles, named “DEEP” employs a highly technical process that creates a unique multi-dimensional rug. Stepevi has coined this technique as Variable Surface Technology’.

DEEP rugs interact with the surrounding space using depth, light and shadow thus creating a unique visual experience from all sides.

Each beautifully designed rug is cut, textured and woven to create a sensual flowing deep surface treatment applied in various designs. The contours of the collection have been constructed to create a multi-dimensional aesthetic.

Stepevi is excited to collaborate for the Stepevi DEEP Collection with the prestigious Milan based Domus Academy Research and Consulting and with a leading edge consumer product design consultancy, Can Yalman Design.

Most of the designs reflect forces and forms of nature from a macro to a micro level. Taking natures landmarks, icons, and formations ECHO series are waves of various geometric patterns that create unique ripple effects that allow for another dimension to take light and shadow thus recreating the space it occupies. FLOW series embody the soul of rivers and grains of wood in creating surfaces with deep wells of emotion. Geometric traditional patterns from kilim making history surface in three-dimensions while defining a new boundary in unconventional forms. The whole series range moves from traditional patterns to natures details in creating a whole new dimension in flooring.

The yarns used to produce the range have an extremely sensual texture, creating a rug that heightens both the visual and the touch senses, simultaneously simple, yet elegant and produced in stunning and sophisticated colour-ways. Use of natural fibers like wool and linen add to the traditional quality craftsmanship at the heart of the Stepevi brand whilst marrying in the most up to date technical developments.

STEPEVI’s ‘Variable Surface Technology’ leaves a mysterious, emotional layered effect on the surface of the rug, taking you on a journey between the dimensions.

This new range reinvents the rug by combining high design ideals with the latest technology and is stores worldwide from January 2009.
