Overview of the Week:

In Language Arts, we will continue to read in our reading groups, read independently, and read stories together as a whole class. Good readers read EVERYDAY!!! We will also practice the comprehension strategy: Visualizing: making a picture or movie in our mind about the story we are reading.

We are writing our All About Plants books. Some of the resources we are using to get information are: books, videos, BrainPOP cartoons, experts that we know, and ourselves. Some of the awesome non fiction text features that we will include are: Table of Contents, illustrations, labels, glossary, and a facts page.

In math we will finish Chapter 10 and start Chapter 11 this week. The Chapter 10 Assessment is Wednesday, May 13th.

1P will gather ideas from the entire Salt Brook School community for a Top 10 list. We are going to collect ideas and then organize a vote for the Top 10 BEST things about New Providence. What is your favorite thing about New Providence?

Look at our Brassica plants!
