• Attention Juniors and Seniors...The FBI of Omaha is giving you the opportunity to get a comprehensive look into today's FBI during three Fridays in the month of November. Topics included in this Teen Academy are terrorism, cyber crime, polygraph exams, SWAT, public corruption, and much more. This is an excellent opportunity to see firsthand if a career in the FBI is for you. Pick up an application from Mrs. Sorensen in the career center.
  • The West/East preordered shirts will be available for pick up today near the wall of champions. If you did not preorder, there are extras available for purchase at the birdhouse prices range from $12 to $30 depending on the style. Quantities are limited and will be on a first come first serve basis.

  • Junior students who are interested in taking the PSAT test can sign up now in the counseling office. The PSAT is a practice SAT test and juniors who score high enough on the test may be eligible for National Merit Scholarships. The test will be given at Bellevue West on October 10th on the testing day. To register for the test, bring $18 to the counseling office. The deadline to register is September 11th.

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program. At the center of CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. The competition puts teams of high school and middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services in a six hour period.Teams compete for the top placement within their state and region, and the top teams in the nation earn all-expenses paid trips to Baltimore, MD for the National Finals Competition where they can earn national recognition and scholarship money.All students are welcome!
