Mehina Reveals Contents of Spill

Spilled Train Car Contained Secret Lubricant, Govt Rethinks Position

Trainworld City; Story by Justin Ink: Attorney Anthony Rubin, speaking for the Mehina Coal and Chemical Company at a hearing yesterday at the Hall of Justice, has revealed that the tanker car that spilled on May 24th of last year was carrying a secret new chemical that is in the process of being developed for commercial use. “The tanker car that derailed and spilled its contents was carrying an experimental lubricant that is about to go into production and my client simply wished it to be kept secret until it was perfected,” said Rubin. “The contents conform to the Republic’s Transportation and Safety Code and do fit under “Lubricant, General.” The precise list of ingredients and contents will be made available only to those with a need to know for this hearing, and will otherwise be kept as a trade secret,” Rubin continued.

(L) Lube-It-All is the secret chemical that was spilled in Railton Yard last year by the Mehina Coal and Chemical Company. It was developed in response to WD-40 ( R )

Pro Consul Dixie Brady, leading the prosecution for the government, has said that she may be willing to yield the case in light of this information. “If Mehina can prove that this chemical is not a danger, nor ever was, than we will not prosecute certain aspects of this particular case. There are mitigating circumstances, however that may still have to be looked at in order to dismiss certain charges,” she said.

Dr. Christina Maida, Vice President of the Mehina Coal and Chemical Company and head of product development, followed Rubin in testimony at the hearing. “The product in question is known as “Lube-It-All” and it is a high performance lubricant and water displacement product. With the advent of WD-40 last year, our labs at our subsidiary, E.Z. Industries, have been working on a chemical that would out perform our chief competitor, and the end result was this product, Lube-It-All. Rather than dispensing as a steady stream, which is what our competitor WD-40 does, Lube-It-All dispenses as a foam, which is the reason why investigators and observers couldn’t figure out what was in the tank car that was marked simply “Lubricant, General”, said Maida. “Since WD-40 was released last year, we were hoping to avoid any unwanted attention prior to the release of our own product so that we could perfect it’s properties. The spill hampered that effort.”

Attorney Anthony Rubin and Pro Consul Dixie Brady have said that they will meet later next week to discuss this case further, but have told the Trainworld Tribune that it’s very possible that many of the charges against Mehina would be dropped.

CEO of Mehina, Dr. Carmen D. Hoxyde, has said that although the timing was wrong, the world is now aware of it’s new product and that they intend to produce it for market as soon as possible.

FALLS SPILL OVER!

Frostbite Falls Defeats Boldon 4-2 For Nations First Three-Time National Championship

The Penguindrome, Frostbite Falls; Story by Tim Cahr: Penguins forward Frank Jensen scored twice in the second period to jump start a scoreless game up to that point and the wild ride began only to end with Frostbite Falls winning it’s third National Championship after an intense game. After a scoreless first period, Frostbite Falls winger Jensen scored two goals 49 seconds apart late in the second period to put the number 3 ranked Penguins square in the drivers seat. But the Bombers responded with a goal from senior forward Bill Berg right off the faceoff just 62 seconds after that to make the game 2-1 to head into the third period. Both goaltenders stood on their heads with saves on remarkable shots but it was Falls goaltender, sophomore Brian Buskalava, who yielded a goal to Boldon senior forward Kenny Gracco at 4:12 into the third period to tie the game at 2-2. The Penguindrome was a fever pitch from that point forward as both teams battled for the win. Penguin center Paul “Puck” Powell answered the call at 14:25 in the third putting the puck past stellar Bomber goalie, Billy “Brick” Baroue to make it 3-2 late in the third. With a a minute and 45 seconds left in regulation, the Bombers pulled Baroue for an extra attacker. Boldon had the Falls bottled up in their own end and Gracco rang one off the pipe, which then jutted out onto Penguins Hank Johnson near the Falls own blue line, where he split the defenders and skated into a defenseless Boldon zone and scored the empty netter to seal Frostbite Falls as the 1954 National High School Hockey Champions. The shots on goal were fairly even, with Frostbite Falls owning a 3 goal advantage at 33-30. The now first three time champions (1939, 1943, 1954) end their season 23-2 while the Boldon Bombers, champions in 1946 and runners up in 1947, who entered the tournament on the heels of the Falls with a # 5 ranking, end their season 20-3-2.
