Job Description

POSITION:Manager, International Promotion

SUPERVISOR:Vice President, International

POSITION DESCRIPTION:Assist the Vice President in overall international promotion program management. Manage regional program activities and perform analysis, reporting, and presentation of international promotion program achievements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:B.A./B.S., ideally in international trade, international relations, international business, or related field; preferably three to five years experience in project management with a trade association involved in export promotion. Travel domestically and internationally for program oversight and activity implementation.Position requires a high-energy, self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with good organizational, written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications. An interest in marketing, international business and knowledge of USDA export promotion programs is highly desirable.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:Work directly with the Vice President, international, international promotion compliance director, international program directors, consultantsand PR agencies; USA Rice Federation President/CEO, COO and other staff; U.S. Government representatives; USA Rice Federation Board and Committee members; and, foreign government representatives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the development and execution of International Promotion activities in assigned areas/markets.

Organize, edit and submit the annual United Export Strategy submission andprogram notifications. Keep USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) informed of all program changes in accordance withregulations. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the FAS staff both in Washington and abroad.

Draft and edit press releases, feature stories, stories for theUSA Rice Daily, success stories to be submitted to FAS, and other written documents as requested to demonstrate International Promotion (IP) program success.

Work closely with FAS to obtain funding and to support industry planning and implementation of programs.

Assist USA Rice in performing market analysis of exports and market trends to inform promotion strategies and communicate results to the members and FAS.

Assist in preparation and attend appropriateUSA Rice meetings.

Assist Vice President in working with USA Rice Merchants’ Association, and the International Promotion Committee and its subcommittees.

Draft meeting minutes, reports, speeches, PowerPoint presentations and other materials.

Represent USA Rice at industry events and meetings and make presentations as assigned.

Manage the site content on the USA Rice website for the International Promotion area to ensure timely and accurate postings.

Track and take action on internal and external requests/inquiries and ensure timely responses. Respond to correspondence and inquiries as requested.

Assist Vice President, International, and Director, International Complianceto ensure compliance with all FAS and Federation policies and regulations.

Other duties as assigned.
