The University of Ulster’s Faculty of Business & Management is pleased to confirm that the 2001 Irish Academy of Management Conference will be held at Magee College, Derry/Londonderry.

Papers are welcome from a broad range of management disciplines including Strategy, Operations Management, Marketing MIS, Accounting, Finance, HRM, Industrial Relations, Organisation Behavior, and Public Policy/Government etc, as well as from emergent fields such as E-Commerce, Critical Management Studies, Consumption and Environmental Management

Abstracts are subject to double blind refereeing. Decisions will be communicated to authors by the end of May 2001.

Postgraduate Track: The conference includes a postgraduate track for research work in progress at masters and doctoral level. There is a best paper award for this track of the conference, only single authored papers can be considered for the award. Abstracts for the postgraduate track must be clearly identified and only single.

A special issue of the Academy’s Journal, Irish Business and Administrative Research (IBAR), will be published based on a selection of best papers presented.

Guidelines for production and submission of abstracts

(i)Maximum 500 word abstract

(ii)Please put you name and institutional address on a separate cover page and attach this to your abstract: only the abstract itself will be sent for review.

(iii)Abstracts to be submitted via regular mail or preferably e-mail only

Format guidelines

  1. Font; Times New Roman
  2. Font Size:11
  3. Left Justified
  4. Margins of one inch
  5. Major heading: Bold Capitals
  6. Minor headings: Bold, Upper and Lower Case
  7. Laser Print Quality
  8. Harvard Referencing System (name, date), e.g. ref.: (Barry 1998): quote: (Barry 1998: 234)
  9. Length of abstract (excluding cover page): maximum 500 words (do not exceed two A4 pages)
  10. Cover page to contain the following:

(i) Title of paper (Bold, Capitals, Centered)

(i)Author’s name (Bold, Upper and lower case)

(ii)Author’s institution, postal address, telephone number and E-mail address.
