5.  New Business / ·  Minutes were reviewed. B. Brunt was listed as both here and excused and A. Eliades as excused twice. First motion by A. Eliades, seconded by B. Brunt.
All voted to approve.
·  Report handed out to those present for review.
·  Research recognition –nominations in each category of nursing recognition awards. Committee
voted and all info was blinded. Individuals will be notified 3/28/16 about induction ceremony. Certificates
are on jump drive and formatted. L. Shanks will write up and print certificates. B. Brunt will introduce award
winners at induction.
Research grant deadline was extended to April 30th. Tracks are still available for EBP and for Research.
·  Membership: Report given by Greer. Pizza party on 3/16 was successful. 258 invited to be inducted. 23
are paid and completed, 19 partially completed and paid. There are some issues with getting the email out toa
all 258 inductees because of the induction system from STTI. Induction starts at 1pm on 4/17. We need
members to come by 11:30 to help set up. Students will arrive at noon.
·  Wednesday 3/2 was the winter program. K. Scott presented on HB 216 and the event was held at Quaker
Station. 19 people were in attendance. Evaluations were positive
·  May 17, 2016 program: Planning is right on track. Registration is going out April 5th. Flyer will be prepared
to be available at induction.
·  C. Sutter will convene committee to review bylaws
·  No report. K. Rose will be meeting with S. Chiu to review proposed budget for 2016-2017
·  A. Eliades will set up ballots for leadership succession. Information will also be available at Induction
·  Spring newsletter has been circulated. Will be collecting info for Summer newsletter next.
·  Region 10 conference support was given in the amount of $100 from our chapter. D. Dornak is
interested in attending along with any other members who would like to go. Chapter can offer support
to attend. Dates are April 15-16. Motion: Delta Omega will support 2 registrations and a hotel room, not to
exceed $500, made by L. Benedict, 2nd by C. Sutter. All approved, motion carried.
·  Western Reserve Division 5 Science Day judging was March 19th, 2 awards were given for $100 each.
·  STTI Leadership conference is Sept. 17-20, 2016. Recommended that our chapter submit and present at the
Conference. Abstract submission is due April 5th.
·  Bridges Health Fair: health fair to be held on June 16th, 2016. Support is needed for the health fair and is
requested by chapter member Sheri (Acierto) Hartman. Items are needed to provide to attendees of the
health fair. Motion: donate $150 to the Bridges Health Fair materials on June 16th, by G. Kabb-Langkamp,
seconded by L. Benedict. All approved. Motion carried.
·  Nurses Excellence Awards: letters will be mailed to hospitals. Motion: move to support the Nurse Excellence
Awards to same institutions for same monetary amount ($50 each) as listed in 2015, moved by B. Brunt.
2nd by G. Kabb, all approved. Motion carried
·  Nurse Leader Application submitted by Kim Kerr. C. Sutter moved to approve, G. Kabb seconded. All
approved. Kim Kerr was accepted as a Nurse leader chapter member.
·  Key Award: current document reviewed and updated at board meeting
