GeneralGuidelines

  • You are a representative of TUSA and MYSA. Please be sure to represent the club in apositive,professional manner. Arrive at your site 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time and allow5-10minutes at the end of your shift to allow for a smooth carry over to the nextshift.

Remember to sign in and out of your scheduledshift(s).

  • You are responsible for smooth operation of your site. Be familiar with the game schedule foryourfield(s).
  • Report any serious problems to the Site Coordinator/Tournament Headquarters.Seriousproblems include:

•Serious medical emergencies requiring any 911calls

•Significant delay (10+ minutes) in start of any scheduled game due to fieldconditions,team or referee no show,etc.

SpecificDuties

Check-In/Registration: Involves checking in teams by verifying rosters, player passes andmedicalforms for all participants. Details to be given at the time ofcheck-in.

Set-Up/Take Down: Help setting up Tournament Headquarters (MMW) and tents at other venuesasneeded. May involve some heavylifting.

Parking Attendant: Help guests find places to park and keep them driving in the right directionatFreeman as well as help keep them from parking on the grass.We will have a police officer todirecttraffic in and out ofFreeman.

T-Shirt Sales: Sell tournament t-shirts at MMW Tournament Headquarters and misc. duties withtheTournament Director as needed. (help guests locate fields andbathrooms.)

Field Marshall: During the course of the tournament, the field marshal’s (FM) overall responsibility istooversee field operations (typically 1-2 fields) for the location he/she is at. It is the FM’sprimaryresponsibility to handle those responsibilities listed below. It is not the FM’s responsibility tosolvetournament problems, but to immediately report any problems or issues to theSiteCoordinator/Tournament Headquarters so that the appropriate parties can getinvolved.

  • Coordinate games/fields, ensuring that games start on time to the best of the FM’sability.
  • If games are behind schedule, notify Tournament Headquarters to make them aware of thesituation.
  • Contact Referee Assignor/Tournament Headquarters when issues and/or problems arise(examples:not enough referees show up to the field, team missing, field conditions,etc.)
  • Walk game fields prior to game(s) to ensure that goals are anchored, nets are fastened and thereareno hazardous field conditions. Make sure corner flags are inplace.
  • Keeping fields clean of trash (take garbage to dumpster in parking lot and replace bags,etc.)
  • Crowd Control – Ensure teams are on one side of field with fans and spectators on the oppositeside.

  • Animal Policy – No pets are allowed on any of the fields at any time. Please ask fans/spectatorstoremove their pet(s) from game fields. If fans/spectators do not cooperate, contact theTournamentDirector for furtherassistance.
  • Contact Site Coordinator/Tournament Headquarters for weatherconditions.
  • Handle emergency situations. If an injury occurs, please be surethat:

•911 is called for emergency situations (Note: EMTs will be at mostsites)

•Site Coordinator/Tournament Headquarters is notified of theoccurrence

•The referee includes the injury on his gamereport

BEFORE EACHGAME

  • Referees – The FM should ensure that the proper number of referees show up at the field priortoeach game, and if not, immediately notify the Site Coordinator/Referee Assignor preferably atleast10 minutes prior to start time. (There may or may not be a referee scheduled for your field. Ifthereis, be aware that the schedule is fluid and that last minute changes often takeplace.)
  • If games get behind schedule, 10 minutes before each game, the FM may need to check-in teamsifrequested by the referee and/or Site Coordinator/RefereeAssignor.

DURING EACHGAME

  • See responsibilities as listed above.

AFTER EACHGAME

  • Completed Game Cards – Ensure that the center referee from each game completed turns inaCOMPLETED GAME CARD signed by the center referee and home and away coaches uponthecompletion of each game. The game report should include any red card violations and/or injuries(ifapplicable). Please give all game cards to the Site Coordinate at the completion of eachgame.
  • NOTE: In the event a player is ejected from a game, the same rules apply that are used inleagueplay. The referee should turn ejected player passes in to you. The player passes MUST bedelivereddirectly to the Site Coordinator/Tournament Headquarters who will retain them until they servetherequired suspension. In the event the team is knocked out, the passes are to be sent to theDistrictDirector. Under NO circumstances should the FM return the player pass to any coach, playerorparent.
