The 90th Textile Institute World Conference – Poznan, Poland2016
The Committee of Management of The Textile Institute Benevolent Society is offering financial support to assist a limited number of students to attend The 90th Textile Institute World Conference 2016, which is being held in Poznan, Poland 25-28April 2016. The conference will be hosted by the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants (INF&MP). Each bursary will cover the student Conference fee and one year’s student membership of The Textile Institute (if the recipient is not already a member).

The Textile Institute is a unique organisation in textiles, clothing and footwear. It was incorporated in England by a Royal Charter granted in 1925, was inaugurated in 1910 and is a registered charity. The Institute has individual and Corporate Members in up to 70 countries, the membership covers all sectors and all disciplines in textiles, clothing and footwear. Within these global industries the aim of the Institute is to facilitate learning, to recognise achievement, to reward excellence and to disseminate information.The conference theme ‘Textiles: Inseparable from the human environment’ will be the leading ‘must attend’ international conference in 2016.
Eligibility
The bursaries are open to full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students studying textile-related subjects (including clothing and footwear) in Poland. Preference will be given to students who are already members of The Textile Institute and/or who are presenting a paper at the Conference. Non-Polish based students are welcome to apply if the TI does not receive or accept 20 suitable bursary applications.

Applicants should submit a supporting statement in English (maximum 500 words) explaining how they would benefit from attending the World Conference. Condition of the award
As a condition of accepting their awards, successful applicants are required to submit a short report after the Conference outlining the benefits they have gained from attending which will be published in the membership magazine and online.
Assessment
All entries will be assessed by a panel appointed by the Committee of Management and applicants will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible after the closing date.
