Applications are invited for Round 9 of the Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Small Business Program (SBP).

Overview – The Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Small Business Program provides grants of up to $50,000 for projects to improve the business enterprise culture of established TCF small businesses that have not received grants or qualify for assistance from other TCF programs.TCF small businesses must manufacture an eligible TCF product in Australia, or design an eligible TCF product for manufacture in Australia.They must have fewer than 20 employees; have a minimum turnover of $100,000; and provide a minimum cash contribution to the project of 25% of eligible expenditure.

AusIndustry also has twoimportant business / economic entitlement programs:
- The R & D Tax Incentive – this programs allows companies to claim Research and Development expenditure at a higher rate than 100% on their tax return. It is an important program as it encourages company to invest in R & D /Innovation.
- The other one is Tradex. This is for companies that import products into Australia and export them again within 12 months. It provides relief from duty and gst.

Export Market Development Grant –

Purpose - The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme is a key Australian Government financial assistance program for aspiring and current exporters. Administered by Austrade, the scheme supports a wide range of industry sectors and products, including inbound tourism and the export of intellectual property and know-how outside Australia.
Overview – The EMDG scheme:
- encourages small and medium sized Australian businesses to develop export markets
- reimburses up to 50% of eligible export promotion expenses above $10,000 provided that the total expenses are at least $20,000
- provides up to seven grants to eacheligible applicant.

Skilled Regional Relocation Incentive

Purpose – The Skilled Regional Relocation Incentive is designed to deliver employment outcomes and contribute to the socio-economic growth of regional communities. The enhanced scheme aims to appeal to a more economically active demographic, including young professionals, single people and young families, all of whom could bring skills and contribute to the vitality of regional communities.
Overview – As part of recent changes to the Regional Relocation Grant scheme, the NSW Government will introduce a new Skilled Regional Relocation Incentive of $10,000 from 1 January 2014 to encourage more people to relocate to regional NSW for employment.
Self-employed people, including small business owners and entrepreneurs, who move to a regional area will be able to apply for the Skilled Regional Relocation Incentive.
Eligibility Criteria – The Skilled Regional Relocation Incentive is tied to secured employment in a regional area. Employment is defined as full-time employment for the purposes of the grant.
Key criteria for the Skilled Regional Relocation Incentive include:
- Proof of residence in a metropolitan area for a continuous period of at least two years;
- Proof of an offer of employment or self-employment in a regional area at least 100 km from the prior metropolitan residence;
- Proof of relocation to a regional area; and
- Applicants can only apply after 1 January 2014 and must demonstrate a minimum period of three months continuous employment or have worked in their own business for the same period.
- Self-employed people who are establishing a small business or relocating a small business to a regional area will have additional mandated requirements to engage with Small Biz Connect, a program administered by the Office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner. Engagement with Small Biz Connect is intended to increase the prospects of business success. Only one grant can be awarded per household. Additionally, the applicant or any member of the applicant’s household must not have previously received a Regional Relocation Grant.

Sidney Myer Fund - Education Program

Purpose – To contribute to enabling Australians to achieve the best possible educational outcomes, irrespective of their cultural background, socio-economic status and place of residence.
Overview –
Large Grants Program – The current priority areas of the Education Large Grants Program are: Early Years (0-5) & Indigenous Education.
Small Grants Program – The Education Small Grants Program aims to provide a quick response to community needs and supports projects that:
- Disadvantaged Young People
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse young people
- Young people in rural and regional communities
Priority – The current priority areas for the Education Small Grants Program are:
- Local community and school based projects that aim to achieve education outcomes for 0-25 year olds
- Small, discreet projects that meet the needs of a community rather than supplementary funding for large projects
- Projects that encourage integration and improve educational outcomes for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students
- Rural and regional communities.
Limitations – Applications will be accepted for grants for charitable purposes from Australian incorporated organisations that have been endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as Tax Concession Charities (TCC).

Cadbury Fundraiser Community Grants
Purpose – To support a wide range of community-based projects that increase social inclusion and enhance community engagement in Australia.
Overview – Grants of up to $3,000 can be applied for under the following grant categories:
Live Well: Initiatives promoting increased opportunities for participation in sports and recreation or general community collaboration.
Learn Well: Initiatives promoting increased opportunities for learning and development.
Limitations – To be eligible, the applicant must be an individual, group or organisation registered as a customer of Cadbury Fundraiser and must have placed an order between 7 October 2013 and 28 November 2014 (Applicants).
Note: Schools, students and student groups are not permitted to apply, but Cadbury Fundraiser welcomes applications from parent or teacher groups, school community groups and parent fundraising committees. For further information on applications, please contact Cadbury Fundraiser.
