SERVICE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:ServiceManager

RESPONSIBLE TO: The designated Trustee on the Management Committee

PLACE OF WORK:Based in Preston

SALARY:Full Time £30K Per annum

HOURS:35 hours per week

HOLIDAYS:28 days per yearplus Statutory holidays

  1. Purpose of Post:

The ServiceManager will be responsible for maintaining, promoting and developing the specialist helpline, counselling, advocacy and support services offered byCentral Lancs. Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre – The Trust House. This will include ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with appropriate standards and requirements from funders and commissioners. The ServiceManager will be asked to network and develop partnerships regionally and locally with statutory and voluntary agencies. Key aspects of the post will also include completing funding applications, awareness raising in a range of settings and generally promoting the work of the agency.

The post-holder will be line managed to the designated Trustee on the Management Committee of Central Lancs. RASASC - The Trust House

  1. Main Duties:
  1. To oversee the work of the Clinical Lead, Volunteer Co-ordinator/Administrator,and Independent Sexual Violence Advisor(s)and to provide line management to designated post-holders.
  1. To overseethe provision of helpline, counselling, advocacy and support services to The Trust House clients to ensure they are safely delivered according to agency’sWorking Policies and Procedures and appropriate professional ethical requirements for training, support and supervision.

3. To ensure that as appropriate the service is able to accommodate and meet cultural, age and gender sensitive needs of clients.

4. To participate in and support the recruitment, training and ongoing professional development of The Trust Housevolunteers and paid workers.

5. To promote the work of The Trust Houseto relevant statutory partners and other voluntary agencies and to build working relationships with such services as appropriate.

6. To ensure that the service raises awareness within the general public including promoting the service; and also working towards breaking down the myths that surround the issues of sexual violence, rape and sexual abuse etc.

7. To network regionally and nationally with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies.

8. To take responsibility for providing comprehensive financial and management reports to the committee; and funders as requested.

9. To take a leading role in completing funding applications and securing commissioning/ contracts to meet all services offered by the charity.

10. To undertake awareness raising activities in a range of settings to promote the needs and issues of victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse and the need for the specialist services provide by The Trust House.

  1. To undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Management Committee of The Trust House
  2. To undertake administrative responsibilities as appropriate.
  3. Attend regular monthly meetings with the designated Line Manager from the Committee.
  4. To work collaboratively as part of The Trust House.team towards the aims and objectives of the organisation as a whole.
  5. To ensure that all work undertaken is carried out in accordance with agency’s Constitution and Equal Opportunities Policy.
  6. To keep up-to-date with relevant legislation (including employment /human resources), policy and practice issues; and ensure that the agency is compliant with such legislation etc.
  7. To liaise with outside agencies as required.
  8. To utilize and oversee the delivery of a centralized financial systems, including payroll activities
