Monday: bell work: Vocabulary practice

1.  The students will complete the movie.

2.  The students will read a news article about Pacific Yew Trees.

3.  The students will research different cancer treatments and affects.

4.  The students will meet the authors of the book, A Monster Calls.

5.  The students will write about “monsters” in their lives.

Tuesday: Bell work: Vocabulary practice

1.  The students will begin reading A Monster Calls (46 pages).

2.  The students will begin a character chart.

3.  The students will begin a context clue chart.

4.  The students will take a fresh text quiz and review it.

Wednesday: Bell work: Vocabulary practice

1.  The students will answer a reading response based on a Yew Tree article.

2.  The students will read 23 pages in A Monster Calls.

3.  The students will go to the library.

Thursday: Bell work: Vocabulary practice

1.  The students will read 23 pages of A Monster Calls and fill out the character charts and context clue charts.

2.  The students will meet in small groups with the teacher in order to complete the reading response.

Friday: Bell work: Vocabulary study.

1.  The students will read 23 pages of A Monster Calls and fill out the character charts and context clue charts.
