Assignment #15

Objective:

The student will construct a drawing using lines, arcs, and circles of varying line widths.

Assignment:

o  Begin a new drawing. Prepare a size "A" drawing sheet and set all parameters as needed.

o  Define layers and colors of your choice for the construction of the given figures. Center lines are to be created on separate layers from the object layers using the linetype CENTER2.

o  The object in Figure 15-1 will be constructed using the PLINE command instead of the LINE command. Set the PLINE WIDTH to .02 inches. Add all given center lines using the LINE command. Create a separate layer for the centerlines and assign the linetype CENTER2.

o  There is no command to allow for the drawing of a PLINE circle. PLINE circles must be constructed using the PLINE command and the ARC option. All Circles will be constructed as PLINE circles not mirrored arcs.

o  Use the MOVE command to center the object.

o  The object in Figure 15-2 will be constructed using the regular LINE, CIRCLE and ARC commands. Use the PEDIT command to turn the lines and arcs to PLINES and use the JOIN option to join the segments and arcs. Set the PLINE WIDTH to .03 inches. Add all given center lines using the LINE command. Create a separate layer for the centerlines and assign the linetype CENTER2.

o  There is no command to allow for the drawing of a PLINE circle. PLINE circles must be constructed using the PLINE command and the ARC option. All Circles will be constructed as PLINE circles not mirrored arcs.

o  Use the MOVE command to center the object.

o  The object in Figure 15-3 will be constructed using the regular LINE, CIRCLE and ARC commands. Use the PEDIT command to turn the lines and arcs to PLINES and use the JOIN option to join the segments and arcs. Set the PLINE WIDTH for .04 inches and join all the lines and arcs. Add all given center lines using the line command. Omit the center marks for the four corner arcs.

Evaluation:

o  You should have only one file name and three plots for this assignment.

o  Refer to the PROJECT EVALUATION handout for the required items to be turned in for evaluation.
