Current Focus – Responsibility
Newsletter Friday 25th November 2016
Dear Parents,
We were very proud of the poppy display in our front garden and all the lovely comments we had about them. I am very pleased to say that we raised £123 for the BBC Children in Need Appeal. Great news! Apologies for any inconvenience caused with the phone lines this week. We appreciate you bearing with us and thank you for your cooperation and patience.
Head Lice
Unfortunately we have had cases of head lice reported again. The school helps support parents to try and eradicate this problem by offering to check children for head lice whilst at school. This, of course, will only be effective if we adopt a whole school approach so that everyone gives their consent and agrees to follow the Action Plan set out below.
Action Plan:
1. Complete the slip giving school staff permission to examine your child’s hair on a regular weekly basis. (Attached for those who have not already returned a slip).
2. Tell the school immediately if your child has head lice.
3. Come into school to see Miss Kendell if you would like support to treat your child’s hair.
4. Nit comb attached which can be used to check hair and also for removal of lice. We have more available from the School Office.
New Site Manager
We have successfully appointed a new Site Manager, Mr Glenn Harding, to take over from Mr Ed Murkin after Christmas who will be missed. I’d like to take this opportunity to officially welcome Mr Harding as well as wish Ed the very best of luck in his retirement too.
Mrs Nixon
Unfortunately, Mrs Nixon has been taken ill recently and is still in hospital. During this time, there’ll be no tuition but I am sure you are with all of us in wishing her better soon. Mrs Nixon, our thoughts are with you.
Milk Bottle Tops
Please continue to send in white, purple, yellow or orange bottle tops. Thanks.
