If you have taken any exams and wish them to be considered as evidence of aptitude, you should enclose the certificates (Recorded vocal evidence is accepted)

Dance performances involve in / Dance styles studied, eg ballet, tap, African, street / Dancing School/ Clubs and Saturday/evening groups

Please enclose a supporting statement from your dance teacher/tutor/club leader. This statement must include specific reference to the candidate’s aptitude, commitment and potential.

Criteria for audition for a Dance place

Candidates will only be called for an audition if they meet the stated criteria for their performing art. These criteria are the minimum requirement for selection for audition.

~  Completion of this application form giving information on experiences and successes, performances involved in and dance styles studied. (All the boxes in ‘Dance Experience’ must be filled with at least one example of experience since Year 4).

~  A supporting statement from your Dance teacher/tutor/club leader (to include reference specific reference to your aptitude, commitment and potential)

~  A personal statement (below) which outlines the importance of dance to you in no more than 100 words.

~  Submission of the above by the deadline of Friday ** October 2009

Those to be auditioned will be chosen using the above criteria. Please be aware there are limited places for audition. If you are chosen for audition a full outline of what you are required to do, with the criteria for the final offer of places, will be provided in the letter offering you your audition.

What we are looking for in a Performing Arts scholar

Someone who:

~  Attends school clubs and productions or concerts in her chosen Performing Art.

~  Is supportive of all other students in all Performing Arts activities, showing excellent group work skills.

~  Shows an aptitude for their chosen Performing Art and full commitment to the development of her own skills.

~  Behaves in an exemplary manner around school at all times.
