The Shawshank Redemption Final Project

Create a visual representation which will answer the following questions completely. Make sure that you are following the directions appropriate to your Reading Level! Each answer will have both a visual and a written explanation. And remember, also, that these projects will be published, so make them pretty! J

Reading Level 6

1.  Compare and contrast the characteristics of a novel and a movie. (RE 6.03)

  1. Ideas for visuals: T-chart or Venn diagram
  2. Write a paragraph explaining the similarities and differences.

2.  What do you think was Andy’s motivation at the beginning of the movie? How do you think it changed by the end of the movie, and by that time, what became his motivation? What caused this change? How do you think it effected the people that Andy directly influenced? (RE 6.11)

3.  Summarize the main idea and the supporting details using the graphic organizer. Do not limit yourself to only four important details. Be specific, and elaborate!!! Write a paragraph paraphrasing this information. (RE 6.12)

4.  Did you like this movie? Why or why not? Be specific; use examples from the movie. What were your favorite parts and quotes? Least favorite? (RE 6.07)
