Guidelines

Established through support from Shell U.K. Ltd, the aim is to assist students to purchase equipment and/or materials to support their studies, progresson on to another course or in to employment.

Amount of Scholarship: Various monetary awards up to the value of £1000 at the discretion of the panel.

Eligible Students: full-time students studying HND Petroleum Engineering Year 1 & 2

The scholarships will be awarded on the following criteria:

1.Commitment and AcademicPerformance

You must be:

  • Committed to achieving success and to using your qualifications to enhance your career prospects withinindustry
  • Able to clearly demonstrate this commitment both on your application form and during theinterview
  • Able to show high standards of academic performance in your coursework
  • Possess high levels of attendance

2.FinancialNeed

Part of the selection interview and application will focus on how you wish to spend the scholarship and why. We understand that students incur debt as part of student life, however, student scholarships are not intended to be used to pay off debts but are intended to assist with the purchase of materials and equipment to help you in your studies and futurecareer-please bear this in mind when completing yourapplication.

3.ApplicationProcedure

Shortlisted students will be invited to an informal interview. It is important that applicants complete the form fully and explain quite clearly why they should be considered for a Shell U.K. Scholarship. Application forms are available on our website. Successful applicants will be required to be photographed at the presentation of their award for publicity purposes. References from a relevant Curriculum Manager will be requested.

The closing date for applications is Friday 30th March 2018 at 5.00pm. Please ensure that all contact details are filled in correctly and send your application to . Alternatively you can hand it into a College reception addressed to Gaynor Jamieson, Trust Fundraiser at Fife College. All applications must be received within the closing date to be considered.
