Introduction
TheOutstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer Award recognizes Asian nationals basedoutside of Japan who possessesthe exceptional vison, achievement and knowledge toinspire others to succeed and to contribute to significant chemical engineering research and technological developments in the field of chemical engineering.The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan (SCEJ)Awards Committee is actively soliciting nominations from all SCEJ members and Chemical Engineering related organizations and societies in Asian countries.Please call or e-mailthe SCEJ Awards Committeefor further information.

EligibilityCriteria*
As of February 15th2015, candidates must:
- Be age 45years or younger;
- Have their activities based in Asian countries;
- Have made a substantial contribution to research and technological developments in chemical engineering;and
- Be nominated either by a member of SCEJ, the president or a representative of a chemical engineering related academic society in an Asian country.
*Board members of the SCEJ and members of the Awards Committee are not eligible to receivethe award.
Submission Procedures
The nomination period for the Award opensin early January of 2015 and closes on February 15, 2015. Please use the following procedures:
- Nomination and CV forms are available on the following SCEJ website:
- Nominators are asked to complete Annex 1 and to submit itto the SCEJ. Annex 1 must be received by February 15, 2015.
Annex 1 includes:
- Nomination Form and
- The recommendation letter of either a member of SCEJ, the president of the society of chemical engineering in other Asian countries or the representative of Chemical Engineering related society.
- Nomineesare asked to completeAnnex 2 and to submit it to the SCEJ. Annex 2 materials must be received by March 31, 2015.
Annex 2 includes:
- Nominee Curriculum Vitae and
- The nominee’s five most significant articles, including scientific papers or patent applications in the field of chemical engineering.

Selection Schedule and Award Lecture
1. Nominations will be thoroughly reviewed by the SCEJ Awards Committee for seven months from March to September 2015.
2. Award recipients will be notified no later than September 30, 2015.
3. This year’s Award winnerswill be invited to present award lecturesatthe 81th Annual Meetingof SCEJ to be held inOsaka, Japan, March 13-15(tentative),2016.Travelexpenses from the awardee’s country to Japanand hotel accommodationsin Japan during the eventwill be provided for by SCEJ.
