FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Royal Bank Science Circus comes to New Lanark

New Lanark Visitor Centre is hosting a Science Fair for families looking for an unforgettable day out from 11th - 13th February.

In conjunction with Glasgow Science Centre’s outreach team, The Royal Bank Science Circus aims to spark interest with a selection of electrifying shows and captivating interactive exhibits.

The Glasgow Science Centre will be staging live shows every afternoon, all of which will be bursting with the ‘wow factor’. In between shows, visitors can take the opportunity to try their hand at some of the exciting interactive exhibits, enjoy refreshment in the Mill Pantry, or take the opportunity to look round the village and its exhibitions.

An exciting new addition to this year’s event is the ‘Glass Forever’ Recycling Roadshow, which shows how glass recycling benefits the environment and, therefore, our future! With a fantastic multi-media presentation and a hands-on simulation of the industrial process that cleans used glass ready for recycling into jars and bottles, this is a fantastic way to learn all about the environmental benefits of the recycling process.

This year brings the welcome return of the Scottish Wildlife Trust who will be joining in all the fun with a fascinating hands-on exhibition. Based on site at New Lanark, the staff will be encouraging visitors to discover what goes on behind the scenes in the beautiful Falls of Clyde Reserve, and to find out about some of the amazing creatures that live there. Younger visitors will be invited to design and build their own mini-beast finger-puppets!

Entrance to the Science Fair is FREE for visitors with a valid Visitor Centre Passport Ticket. This costs £5.95 for adults and £3.95 for children, students and senior citizens. Family tickets may be purchased at £16.95 for two adults and two children, and £19.95 for two adults and up to four children. Tickets include entry to all the award-winning attractions in the village. The Centre is open every day from 11am to 5pm. Those just wishing to visit the Science Fair can do so - tickets will be available on the door for adults (£2.00) and children (£1.50), children must be accompanied by an adult.
