Overview of Class Requirements

  • Students must be prepared for class; this includes a novel for themselves for the first five minutes of class, binder,

charged iPad, highlighters, pens, pencils and colored pencils.

  • After returning from an absence, students must check the While You Were Out bin as well as the Daily Journal binder to see what work they have missed. All work (missed while absent) must be completed in the same amount of time that they were absent. For example, if a student is absent for two days, he/she will have two days to complete the missed assignments.
  • Any student who missed my class for a lesson, play practice, game, doctor’s appointment, guidance appointment, nurse visit, etc. must check in with me to hand in any work that was due and check their class bin and the Daily Journal binder.
  • Students must inform me of any grades incorrectly entered within two weeks of posting the grade.

Evaluation Procedure

  • Quizzes, tests, writing assignments, homework, class work, presentations, projects, district assessments, midterm exam, simulations, and the final exam will be used to assess the students’ learning.
  • Late work is accepted up to three days with point penalties accruing each day.
  • Second chance learning opportunities are available! Students must see me immediately before we discuss/review as a class when an assignment is returned to them if they do not understand what they have to do to take advantage of second chance learning.
  • Extra Credit- Rosies, Homework Passes and “Golden Tickets”- bonus points not bonus percentage points!
