MADE BY THE COUNCIL UNDER SECTIONS 1(1) AND (2), 2(1) AND 84 (1) AND (2) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, ON

(VARIOUS ROADS) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER, 2012
The Metropolitan Borough of Sefton under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) and 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, and Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in Accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act hereby make the following order:-
1. The traffic Orders specified in Column 1 of Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby revoked to the extent specified on Column 2 of Schedule 1 of this Order.
2. No person shall drive any motor vehicle in any direction at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the road specified in Column 1 of Schedule 2 to this Order on the length of that road specified in Column 2 of the said Schedule.
3. The Interpretation Act, 1978, shall apply for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
4. The restrictions imposed by this order shall be in addition to and not in derogation of any restriction or requirement imposed by any regulation made or having effect as if made by the Act of 1984 or by or under any other enactment.
5. This Order shall come into operation on the 8th day of March 2012, and may be cited as “The Metropolitan Borough of Sefton (Various Roads) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order, 2012”.
