Choosing an Award for your Revolutionary War Hero

Part A. Now that your research is complete, you need to choose an award for your figure. Review your research. How does this person stand out? The award should reflect this person’s accomplishments. For example, if Derek Jeter (clearly not a Revolutionary War Figure) won an award, perhaps it would be for his leadership or pride as an athlete.

Complete the brainstorm list for a few possible award ideas:

1. ______

2. ______

3. ______

4. ______

Part B. Star the award choice you like the best.

Part C. Create the award!

  • You can draw and create your own award or use templates from the internet (see my homepage). Your award must be colorful and include symbols that represent your figure.

For example, Derek Jeter’s award would include a fielding glove or a baseball/bat. Get creative and have fun with this!

Award Parts: Award must include:

war hero’s name

specific award name (ex. most athletic)

reason for award (ex. holding the record for the most homeruns in baseball history)

a historically accurate date (refer to your research)
