OPERATIONS:

·  Airops(Helicopters)

·  Boat.

·  Trucks

·  Warehousing

·  Miscellaneous.

The reporting format is been suggested by UNJLC in Rome.

ACTION POINTS:

a)  There’s a possibility to get the barge that is stuck in Mutarara back on the water but it has to be dismantled and then later assembled on the river bank. There’s no crane or tug boat available for this job. Sandra (INGC) and Jan will work with ANE (National Agency for Roads), who is the owner of the barge for a definite solution.

b)  There’s apparently a need to supply 36 tons of food to Braz but there are a couple of locations call Braz. Thomas will find out which of the Brazs has this need and liaise with WFP program staff accordingly.

c)  Cluster members should state the weight and volume of line items on the cargo movement requests (CMR).

d)  There’s a need to adapt the WFP reporting system to that of the Cluster needs for NFIs. (waybills, LTIs etc).

e)  Sandra (INGC) will talk to the airstrip management to allow the vehicle of the chopper crew onto the tarmac.

f)  Fred will investigate if the Cluster still needs 13 trucks currently at its disposal. The trucks have been under-utilized recently.

g)  Fred is to work with Robert to ensure that trucks loaded overnight are secure.

Pending action points:

a)  Ferry crossing priority.(INGC)

b)  Map of Inhangoma. (Elisabeth)

c)  Improvised wind indicators for heli landing sites. (Sandra).

d)  Barge stuck in Mutarara (INGC & Jan)

-cargo tracking sheet distributed but needs some fine-tuning.

-started receiving items, cooking sets, tank etc pledged by agencies for improving the working conditions of the warehouse staff.

5. Miscellaneous.

-Oxfam GB suggested the rational use of cars among cluster members. This was considered ok as long as Waivers are signed by the Users that are not employees of the Agency car they are traveling in.

-OGB asked about the possibility to bring in cargo from Blantyre, Malawi to Mutarara, Mozambique. Jess of UNICEF said that it’s possible as long as the custom procedures are followed.

-Cluster members attending previous meetings are now absent since they don’t have a permanent base in Caia.
