REGULAR MEETING

June 10, 2009; 7:00 P.M.

The Regular Meeting of the Amity Township Planning Commission was held at the Amity Township Municipal Building located at 2004 Weavertown Road, Douglassville, Berks County, and PA. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Joseph Hayik at 7:00 P.M. with a salute to the flag. The following people were in attendance:

Mr. Boyer discussed the new layout for this site. They are now able to add additional lots and alignment and site distances of the streets has improved. Paul Weller moved, seconded Neal Fisher to accept the plan for review. Motion carried 3-0.

Irene Witek-Preliminary Plan-Stackhouse Bensinger-Commercial Monocacy Creek Road and 422

Mr. Weller moved, seconded by Mr. Fisher recommend the Board of Supervisor’s approve the plan conditioned upon the Securities and Improvements Agreements executed and the Open Space Fee payment. Motion carried 3-0.

Pagoda Motorcycle Club-MB Investments-Route 422 East

Mr. Ryan Inch, PE reviewed the layout and discussed there is over 900 feet along the roadway to aid with traffic stacking on show days and a pumping station will be required. They will design the pipes and system to be large enough to handle the site adjacent in the event of any future development. Neal Fisher moved, seconded Paul Weller to accept the plan for review. Motion carried 3-0.

Zoning

Jay Tornetta – 422 Properties -Tornetta Realty Group presented the Planning Commission with an overview of different projects they have done in other townships. At this time they are clearing their land of concrete and debris. All work has been done with the appropriate governmental department approvals. They have proposed a Zoning overlay to the area that allows flexibility and respectfully request the Planning Commission review for possible adoption.

OTHER PLANNING COMMISSION ITEMS

Halman-Buioni Tract- Mr. Weber stated they have performed the field Preliminary Soil work at the site and their Soil Scientist is currently reviewing and redrawing the map. They have discovered additional High Water Tables that will effect how much they can build on the site.

ORDINANCE REVIEW

AWIP-Mr. Weller reviewed at the workshop meeting May 20, 2009 a professional planner was discussed.

OTHER ITEMS

Mr. Weller commended Mr. Lyon for writing a letter to Senator Michael O’Pake’s office with regards to our Geiger Road Bridge continued closure.
