GUIDELINES

Dear Teachers,

Welcome to the year 2012.

This manual has been compiled with activities for the children.

Always prepare your Sunday school with photocopies of activities for your children.

Every outline has two activities; the first which is the colouring page is for children between the ages of 2 – 6 years, while the second activity sheet is for children between 7 years and above. Please note that this outline is a guide to you as a teacher; you are to prepare your lessons to suite the age of your children. Ask for the help of the Holy Spirit.

*For some time the judge refused but finally said to himself.

*Even though I don’t fear God or care about men but because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justices.

*Otherwise, she will wear me out by her continuous coming.

*Jesus said hear what this unjust judge says, will God not bring about justice for His chosen ones who cry to Him day and night?

*Will He keep putting them off

*I tell you, He will see that they get justice and quickly.

*Jacob became afraid (why? Teachers tell the children) and divided the people who were with him into 2 groups including the flocks and camels.

*Saying to himself, if Esau comes and attack one group, the other group may escape.

*Jacob then prayed to God reminding God of His promise to take him back to his people and prosper him.

AIM:To teach the children that God is delighted / happy when we praise and worship Him truly from the bottom of our heart for who He is.

INTRODUCTION

If you walk into a room full of people and you are gorgeously dressed, everyone is admiring and praising your outfit; how will you feel? (Teachers get the children to respond), yourhead will swell and you will be feeling good and proud inside of you. This is exactly the way God feels when we give Him quality praise and worship from the bottom of our heart.

LESSON 1:PRAISE AND WORSHIP – THE KEY TO GOD’S PRESENCE

Definition: Praise:- Praise is appreciation through our words, thoughts and deeds i.e. actions.

Worship:- Worship is responding to God’s love with reverence in praise and with a heart full of joy and appreciation.

*It happened that as they went about teaching and praying, a fortune teller called out that Paul and Silas were servants of God who proclaim the way of salvation.

*Paul was grieved by this action, because the fortune teller was used by an evil spirit, so he commanded the evil spirit to leave in the name of Jesus Christ.

*With their business ruined, the fortune teller took Paul and Silas to the town officials and accused them of teaching against the law.

*The crowed attacked Paul and Silas, the officials ordered them to be beaten and put in the prison and placing them in the inner part of the cell.

*At mid-night the other prisoners heard Paul and Silas singing and praising God, when an earthquake suddenly shook open the prison doors.

*Thinking the prisoners had escaped, the jailer drew his sword to kill himself, knowing that if the prisoners escaped, he will be killed but Paul stopped him.

*Seeing what has happen, the jailer asked Paul and Silas what he must do to get saved because he heard them when they were praising and worshiping God and rejoicing in the Lord even though they were in prison.

*The jailer and every member of his household believed and were saved, and Paul and Silas taught everyone present about Jesus and the jailer washed their wounds.

*God turned Paul and Silas pain into joy and victory, the jailer and members of his household were also baptized to show they believed.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION TO THE SAVED CHILD

*God gave instructions to Israel to follow through his servant Joshua on hoe to conquer Jericho

*Joshua told Israel to march around Jericho daily for six days according to the instruction he got from the Lord.

*Israel obeyed, silently marching around Jericho for six days.

*On the seventh day, the people marched around Jericho seven times and Joshua commanded that when they hear the trumpet they were to shout.

*Joshua told Israel that as they shout Jericho and all its inhabitants (except for Rehab and her family, who had believed God) were doomed to totaldestruction.

*At the trumpet blast, Israel gave a thunderous shout and the wall fell down flat, by the great power of God, allowing Israel to march in victoriously.
