New FTP/SFTP Reference Data Service

The purpose of this Service Announcement is to inform customers that London Stock Exchange will be launching a new FTP/SFTP Reference data service, due to hardware refresh. Parallel run of the new and existing service will begin 9 May 2016. The existing service is scheduled to be decommissioned on 1 July 2016. Customers should ensure they have migrated to the new service before the decommissioning date.

The purpose of this upgrade is to more closely standardise the directory structure and file naming convention used across LSEG Venues. Phase 1 will not pertain to sponsored access upload of restricted instruments, for sponsoring firms.

Features include:

  • Improved Resiliency - The reference data service will be available in hot-hot configuration at the Primary Data Centre and Secondary Data Centre. Participants can choose which site to retrieve reference data files.
  • MD5 Checksum - An optional MD5 checksum file will be available to participants for file integrity verification purposes following transmission (suffixed FILENAME_yyyymmdd.csv.md5).
  • Username / Password – Users will access the new reference data server with a generic username and password. This replaces the individual user name and password structure currently supported.

Migration Plan:

The new reference data service is now live. Customers can begin to migrate over to the new service using the new credentials.

MIT 401- Guide to Reference Data Services Issue 11.10, has been updated with the new target IP addresses and new username / password credentials. The updated document is available on the London stock Exchange website at the link below:

The existing server is scheduled to be decommissioned on 1 July 2016.
