The Practice of Feeding Recyled Cooking Oil to Chickens and Other Livestock Is Based Solely

The practice of feeding recyled cooking oil to chickens and other livestock is based solely on the fact that it is a cheap source of energy for fattening up the animals. However, one has to be concerned about the presence of various toxins like PCB, dioxin, etc. and also, in countries where there’s no legislation on use of recycled oils for feed, one has to be concerned about whether the oils contain harmful compounds arising from repeated high-heat use. Some of these compounds which include trans-fatty acids are not recognized by the body of the animals as food and may bio-magnify and accumulate in the meat that we then consume.

Yellow Grease
1. COMMODITY: Yellow Grease/Australian Origin
2. COMPOSITION：Yellow Grease – Produced from the collection of waste cooking oils from restaurants and hotels, which are then recycled and refined for reuse in feed for intensive livestock production.
3. APPEARANCE：Golden brown to medium brown in colour
4. SUITABLE FOR：Yellow Grease may be used as an energy source in formulating feeds for all classes of livestock, many exotic animals, and pet foods.
5. SPECIFICATIONS：Titre (min) 32° - 38°C

6. STORAGE：Shelf life 6 months after the production date. Goods should not be subjected to excessive heat or moisture.
7. PROCESSING：The product has been processed using steam heat at a minimum of 133 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 2 hours at 3 bar pressure.
8. PACKING：Either in bulk in sea tanker, or 190kg steel reconditioned drum packed in 20’ containers, of approximately 19mt nett per container.
