62.3.2 CONSIDERED CERTAIN REVISION IN THE NORMS FOR
RECOGNITION OF DEPARTMENTS IN THE AFFILIATED ENGINEERING COLLEGES AS A RESEARCH DEPARTMENT
RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND THE REVISED NORMS FOR RECOGNITION OF DEPARTMENTS IN THE AFFILIATED ENGINEERING COLLEGES AS A RESEARCH DEPARTMENT AS UNDER
1. The Institute / Engineering College should be of minimum 7 years standing.
2. It should offer P.G. Programme in the concerned Departments (except for Maths / Physics / Chemistry / Humanities Departments).
3. There shall be at least two faculties with Ph.D. Degree with a minimum of two publications each in referred journals (within a period of 3 years preceding the date of request) from each Department.
4. A satisfactory assessment report by the Inspection Committee on availability & suitability of infrastructure facilities and with the required recognition fee. The Vice-Chancellor shall constitute the above committee.
RESOLVED FURTHER TO REVIEW PERIODICALLY ONCE IN A YEAR THE CONTINUANCE OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS TO THE RECOGNIZED RESEARCH DEPARTMENTS AND TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR (RESEARCH) TO EVOLVE A SUITABLE ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM FOR THE ABOVE.
FURTHER RESOLVED TO COLLECT A RENEWAL FEE OF
RS.1, 000/- PER YEAR

62.3.3 CONSIDERED THE PROPOSED NORMS FOR RECOGNITION OF INDUSTRIAL UNITS OR R&D DEPARTMENTS/ LABS/ UNITS OF GOVERNMENT/ QUASI GOVERNMENT OR ANY OTHER RESEARCH LABORATORY FOR COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH WITH ANNA UNIVERSITY.
RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND THE NORMS AS INDICATED UNDER FOR RECOGNITION OF INDUSTRIAL UNITS OR R&D DEPARTMENTS/ LABS/ UNITS OF GOVERNMENT/ QUASI GOVERNMENT OR ANY OTHER RESEARCH LABORATORY FOR COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH WITH ANNA UNIVERSITY.

3. Sufficient infrastructure facilities in the relevant area of research.
4. A satisfactory assessment report by the inspection committee on availability & suitability of infrastructural facilities, with the required recognition fee. The Vice-Chancellor shall constitute the above committee.
Further Resolved to collect a renewal fee of Rs.5, 000/- for every five years.
62.3.4 CONSIDERED A NORM TO DECIDE THE FACULTY FOR AWARD OF DEGREE FOR RESEARCH SCHOLARS WHO HAVE U.G. & P.G. DEGREES IN DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES/FACULTIES.
RESOLVED TO APPROVE THAT THE FACULTY FOR THE AWARD OF Ph.D DEGREE FOR RESEARCH SCHOLARS SHALL BE DECIDED BASED ON THEIR POST GRADUATE DEGREE.
