The Oxford & Cambridge Garden Party

at the Ecole Militaire

with our guests les Anciens élèves et diplômés de l’Ecole Polytechnique

Tuesday June 21st at 6.30pm

Dear Fellow Cantabrian,

Our Annual Garden Party will this year be held at the Ecole Militaire on Tuesday June 21st at 6.30 pm. In addition to our friends from Oxford, we will be joined this year by les Anciens élèves et diplômés de l’Ecole Polytechnique in the Rotonde Gabriel.

This year, to honour the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare, there will be a presentation on The Shakespeare Forgery by Dr Nicolas Bell, Librarian at Trinity College, Cambridge’s Wren Library. William Ireland “discovered” a number of lost Shakespeare plays at the end of the 18th Century and these are housed in Trinity’s Wren Library. It has now been determined that these plays are forgeries. Read more.

After this presentation, President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing will respond on behalf of les Anciens de l’X.
