WEDNESDAY EVENING CHURCH MEETING

Bible study on Wednesday, 5pm.

We meet together to study God’s Word, sign cards and have wonderful Christian fellowship while having coffee and snack, kindly providing by Margaret, Brent, Laura, Rachel and others.

Please plan to come and have a good time.

The Church Food Pantry and Clothes Rack is working. We delivered food to 4 needy families and families with children in Rosewood last week. We also distributed clothes to 3 families and made arrangements for 2 more families to come. We received donation from Gina Stefani in Cedar Cove of 13 sets of sheets and distributed them between 6 families. People in the community donate clothes, etc.

The food pantry needs: canned meats, tuna, etc. We have plenty of canned vegetables and fruits. We do not keep dry food in summer.

Bible Question Who were the “Hellenists” among the early disciples? (Acts 6:1)

Wait, Walk, Work and Worship

I. Wait

(Acts 1:4-5 ESV) And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

(Romans 8:18-25) For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

II. Walk

(Deut. 10:12) “And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am commanding you today for your good?

(1 John 1:7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

III. Work

(1 Corinthians 3:8-9) He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.

(1 Corinthians 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

IV. Worship

(1 Chronicles 16:29-31) Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;

bring an offering and come before him! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth; yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”

Keep the faith! Come to Jesus in faith, repentance and baptism. DB
