Notice Inviting Third Party Comments for San Diego State University’s Accreditation Review by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education

The nurse-midwifery education program at San Diego State University, of

San Diego, CA, is scheduled to be reviewed by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education’s (ACME)* Board of Review (BOR) for continuing accreditation in January 2012.

ACME seeks input from the public and other interested parties about the

quality and conduct of this nurse-midwifery education program. In all

instances, comments must directly relate to the continuing accreditation

of this program and the ACME Criteria for Programmatic Accreditation, December 2009 (revised June 2010). Members of the public must cite the particular criterion of concern in their comments. The criteria can be found online at www.midwife.org/ACME.cfm at the bottom of the page, at the bullet

“ACME Documents”.

Written comments will be included with other program materials reviewed

by the BOR. Comments may be sent by email to or

Comments are due to ACME by September 5, 2011.

* Note that the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education was formerly known as

the Division of Accreditation (DOA) of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
