Additional Information:

Network Rail is a safety critical company and your safety is important to us at all times. While you are at Westwood, we should be grateful if you could really look around and let us know if there is anything you can see that can be improved and if you see anything that looks wrong, let us know. Feedback is welcomed at Reception.

Travel and Directions:

The nearest train station to Westwood is Coventry station.

A taxi rank is available outside Coventry Station. The local company we use are Central Taxis on 02476 333 333. Please ask the driver for Network Rail – Westwood, located on WestwoodHeath Road, CV4 8PG. Please retain the taxi receipt so you can claim the money back when you start as an employee.

Timings

•  You will need to be checked in at Westwood by 5 pm on Sunday the 11th September.

•  Each day (Monday - Friday) will start at 8.30am, additional activities will take place in evening until 8pm.

•  Your final session on Fridaywill end at 3pm.

•  On your departure on Day 5 there will be coaches available to take you back to Tile Hill train station.

Car Park:

The car park is located to the rear of the building, please be aware that if the car park is full you will be directed to an alternative car park off site.

Please note, we have disabled spaces for badge holders, please if we can be of any assistance.

Arrival and Accommodation:

Accommodation is provided for you at the Westwood Centre for all 5 days. Below is some specific information regarding dates and timings.

Make your way to the main Reception located at the front of the building. You will be greeted by one of the Reception Team who will register you and give you a badge. This must be worn and be visible at all times and returned to the collection boxes located at the exits.

You will be given an electronic key which allows you access to your bedroom and enables you to charge items from the bar to your room account.

•  There is on-site safety and bedroom information on Channel 22 of your bedroom TV. Please watch this short film as it contains information about the fire evacuation procedure, Bar, Leisure, and Reception facilities.

•  Please be aware that smoking and the use of mobile phones is not permitted at the front of the building. If you wish to smoke (this includes E-cigarettes) there are designated smoking areas around the site.

•  All bedrooms are equipped with towels and a hospitality tray, TV, hairdryer, iron/ironing board and a ‘user friendly’ air conditioning system which provides for both heating and cooling.

•  If you have forgotten to pack anything, Reception has a stock of items for sale such as toothbrushes, deodorant etc.

•  The nearest shops and cash dispensing facilities are at Cannon Park which is a 5-minute car journey away.

On your final day, Friday the 16th September, you will need to vacate your bedroom taking all your personal belongings with you by 10:00 am. You can settle your account at Reception with debit/credit cards or cash by 10:00 am on the day of departure.

Your luggage can be left until your event finishes in luggage rooms located on East and West training wings.

Outdoor Activities

You will need to bring clothing for doing physical activity. Your clothing may get wet and dirty, so please do not wear anything you are not happy to be soiled.

We would recommend:

•  Training shoes or walking boots – suitable for walking and climbing

•  Shorts and tracksuit bottoms(please do not wear jeans)

•  T-shirt and full sleeve top/fleece

•  Water-proof jacket

•  Sun glasses and sun cream

Medical info:

During some of the sessions, you will be participating in sustained moderate outdoor activity.

•  The activities have been designed to be achievable by all attending.However, we would like to know about any medical conditions, allergies or concerns you may have. Any conditions or concerns will not prevent you from taking part, it just gives us the opportunity to ensure we are taking the best action to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

•  No matter how trivial, please email any relevant information to , we’d rather be informed than surprised.

•  If you take medication, please let us know and ensure you have it with you on the day. If you have an EpiPen please let us know before the programme and on the day.

Mobile Technology:

To help minimise distractions for everyone visiting Westwood, we request that mobile phones are silenced during all events.

Should you wish to re-charge your phone battery, our free secure charging kiosks are located in East and West training wings.

Leisure:

We have a complimentary leisure complex on site for delegates to use whilst staying at Westwood. Westwood Leisure is equipped with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room, fitness suite, mountain bikes for hire and exercise class studio. You will receive further information from the leisure team regarding these facilities and their use.

Licensed Bars:

We have two bars - the Gallery and Leisure Bar. The Leisure Bar features draught beers, big screen Sky TV, a variety of bar games and weekly entertainment. When you are staying at Westwood, all drinks are charged to your bedroom account.

All charges for alcohol cannot be claimed via personal expenses.

Whilst you are staying at Westwood you are still covered by Network Rail's Drug and Alcohol Policy. Our License only allows drinks to be purchased in the Gallery Bar, Leisure Bar and Restaurant.

Gallery and Leisure Bar - Monday to Thursday incl. 17:30–23:00.

Please note that we do not operate a hotel licence and all drinks must be consumed by 23:20 and all licensed areas vacated by 23:30.

Dining Arrangements:

Westwood offers various dining areas for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a shop in our Deli Bar, selling a range of confectionary, drinks and snacks as well as bacon and sausage baps. The shop is open from 8.00am-2.30pm and we accept both Cash and Card payments.

Breakfast

A buffet service offering a selection of fresh fruits, juices and cereals and a choice of English and Continental breakfast. Help yourself to the buffet and tea and coffee will be served at the tables.

Lunch

The choice of either the Restaurant with a selection of fresh wholesome main courses and desserts or if you fancy something light, try our Deli located above the Restaurant. The Deli offers lighter options, including sandwiches freshly made to order served on freshly made bread with a variety of fillings.

Your course leader will let you know when the lunch and dinner times will be.

Dinner

A relaxed, informal service with a help yourself themed buffet consisting of a soup starter, main course and desserts.

Hospitality

Hospitality is open throughout the day offering hot/cold beverages and fruit available in East and West training wings.

If you have any food allergies or intolerances, please email as soon as possible.

Security:

Should you need to leave the site during your stay, please ensure you inform Reception or Security both on departure and return as Westwood need to account for all registered persons on site at all times. Westwood has a security barrier system in operation at the main entrance. The gate will open and allow you access on arrival and on departure. Please note Westwood is monitored by CCTV cameras.
