Checklist for Programs Applying for Initial Accreditation

Dear Program Representative:

We are happy you are moving forward with accreditation in this upcoming cycle. The following is important information regarding next steps and deadlines.

The following process must be followed by an institution seeking initial accreditation with the National Environmental Health Science & Protection Accreditation Council (EHAC). EHAC will consider accrediting an Environmental Health program that has met the following:

____The program has graduated one or more classes under the curriculum being evaluated for accreditation.

____ The Program has submitted a Program Evaluation Report (Self-Study) with supporting materials. Please contact the EHAC office current deadline.

_____ The program has submitted a completed Application Form and Payment of applicable fees by(please contact office for current deadline).Fees are $500 for new programs and $300 for programs that already have an EHAC accredited program and are seeking accreditation for an additional program.

After these requirements have been completed, a site visit team assigned by the Council will conduct a site visit at the institution. The Council will evaluate the application materials and site visit report at its Annual Council Meeting which is held in June.

Program Evaluation Report (Self Study)

The Program Administrator is responsible for submitting a Self-Study no later than six months prior to the Annual Meeting (please contact the office for deadline).

Electronic Submissions of the Program Evaluation Report are the preferred method of submittal. Electronic Submissions should be sent to the Office for processing and posting on the internet for distribution. It is imperative that you ensure your document is in a readable format. Only pdf files are accepted.

Electronic copies of the Self Study report must be submitted to the EHAC office at . The staff will ensure a copy of your self study is posted in the login portion of the ehacoffice.org website for EHAC council members to review.
